Why We Founded Kelowna Divorce

High cost, high stress and a lengthy process of each of our divorces made us look for an alternative. Divorce lawyers helped us find peaceful divorce mediation .
The Traditional System
We both work at Kelowna Divorce Mediation Services and we have gone through our own rough divorces. In those previous lives we each spent $20,000+ in lawyers’ fees – and that does not include how much our ex’s paid their lawyers.
After months of affidavits and our lawyers’ phone calls back and forth, we came to a stalemate – but the legal costs didn’t stop! At that point, we were faced with two options – try mediation, or go broke .
Thank god we agreed to mediate. We were able to use the mediator to get agreement on how to divide our assets and debts, as well as parenting plans that were in the best interest of our families. Ten years later, we are happy to report that all four of our children are doing great, and we didn’t go bankrupt.
Peaceful Divorce Mediation
Based on our own dreadful experiences, we decided to start a divorce company that promoted peaceful divorce mediation. So we developed a system that empowers separating couples with divorce knowledge so they are able to make informed decisions at one of the most critical times in their lives. This reduces the stress and speeds up the negotiating process. We also ask each party to obtain more information and/or professional opinions if we come to a stalemate on an issue.
Don’t get us wrong. Divorce will always be a rough journey, but it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg, or take as long as ours did. Kelowna Divorce promises its clients that they will spend less, have greater control of the process, and obtain a better result for themselves and their children. After all,
